laura, mark, james & andrew are coming to buenos aires for five days in march! this morning we went to check out the Hote Chile on Avenida de Mayo to see if this suite would suffice.

the building is actually an architectural landmark.

today’s my text deadline for my book for Lonely Planet. i still have another week to finish the photo shoot, but that’s sort of the fun part compared to the nail-biting process of actually writing most of the text of a book…

here’s one of the maps i was working on:

the lovely and talented Monica Galan, a film actress, pictured here on her terrace. one of several interviews i did for the book – she talked about theatre & tango.

oh, lord. monica is comfortable, more than comfortable, in front of a camera, but i am not. this is from the ridiculous photo shoot for the head shot i have to provide for the book. hey, at least i was at the beach.

this post is dedicated to Patrick, who is having a “very stressful” last semester of undergrad and has a crazy Mexican professor that sent out a mid-semester email to the class. here are some highlights:

“Homeworks must be stapled. If sheets get loose, you will lose”

“Some of you write very disorganized / dirty HWs. You will be heavily penalized
if you continue this practice.”

“Some students chit-chat during lecture. This is very distracting and rude. If you keep doing this, your grade will suffer (5% participation).”

what exactly is it that the HWs are dirty with? was one of Patrick’s HWs one of the filthy ones? also, i’d like to see a show of hands for who thinks that Patrick is one of the students chit-chatting during lecture.
